Floor Care

Satisfaction always guaranteed and our #1 goal!
Come visit us at our showroom in Rogers, Minnesota!

Your new floor will give you years of pleasure and wear .
In order to keep it in good shape, it needs to have proper care. Please read the following care instructions.

   Floor Care Instructions
  Washing floors
•   We recommend washing with vinegar and water or a diluted solution of Mr. Clean and/or Lysol with water.

•   Beware of "Wood Floor" cleaning products.

•   Do not use any oil soap or wax type products. Such products may impair your ability to buff and coat your floor in the future. We do not guarantee Buff and Coats on floors cleaned with such products.

•   Poly and water-based finish products may not adhere to floors cleaned with wax or oil solvents.

  Leg pads on furniture
•   Be sure that the legs of all the furniture have floor pads on them to protect your floors from being scratched. Katy's Floor Savers has a high quality pad. Katy also has floor mops and cleaners. Both are great with wood floors. Call her at 763-535-1447.

•   Floor pads will need to be replaced depending on furniture, usage, etc.

  Floor Wear
•   Watch floors in the years to come for wear. High traffic areas such as kitchens will need a buff and coat every 1-3 years, depending on wear.

•   Do not allow floors to over wear. Re-sanding will then need to be done.

  High heels
•   Do not wear high-spiked heels on the floors.

  Rolling chairs and vacuums
•   Have rubber wheels on rolling chairs. Tape the wheels of vacuums with duct tape.

  Humidity's effects
•   It is normal and acceptable in the wood flooring industry for wood floors to expand in the summer months and to shrink in the heating months. It is especially apparent with maple floors.

  Natural wood markings
•   It is important to realize that the wood used for hardwood flooring is a product of nature and therefor has natural characteristics that some may mistake for flaws or would find unacceptable when used for another purpose such as a counter or tabletop. These natural markings, when viewed at the finished product as a whole, are part of the floor's charm and character and are considered acceptable by the wood flooring industry standards.

  Moving appliances
•   When moving appliances, it is necessary to move directly on to Masonite.

  Rugs
•   Wait one month to place rugs. Lighting may cause shading under rugs. Do not use rubber backed rugs as you would in a bathroom.
